What is Wi-Fi 7, in simple terms?

Wi-Fi 7 is the latest Wi-Fi standard, known technically as IEEE 802.11be, built to move more data with less delay than the Wi-Fi 6 and 6E generations that came before it. It isn’t a replacement in the sense of making older kit obsolete overnight. It’s better thought of as the next rung on a ladder that started decades ago, each generation improving on the last through faster underlying technology and smarter ways of sharing the airwaves.
